Welcome to Unceasing - a weekend of unbroken prayer
"Pray without ceasing" - 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Whether you are a member of All Saints of have heard about our prayer weekend through a friend, you are welcome to come and use our prayer room at any point during the event. Our hope for Unceasing is that it will engage believers and seekers in the power of prayer.
How does it work?
From 6pm on Friday 30th November to 10pm on Sunday 2nd December,
the Tiger* Crypt and Schoolroom will be transformed into a dedicated place of prayer, to encourage everyone to encounter God in prayer, whether young or old, contemplative or active, creative or methodical.
You are invited to sign up to a one-hour slot during this period (or more!), so that there will be an unbroken time of prayer in the room for 52 consecutive hours. The prayer room is also a drop-in, where anyone can go to pray at any point, day or night.
What will be in the prayer room?
The prayer room will include books, music, a dedicated solitary space, communal areas, comfortable seats, various lighting options, visuals, prayer stations, creative activities, and a whole host of other things that we hope will help you to pray. Participants are welcome to use some, all, or none of these.
There will also be a supply of tea, coffee and biscuits, with pastries served in the mornings.
How do I sign up?
Book into a slot online, here on our dedicated page on 24:7 Prayer. You can sign up online any time until 6pm Thursday 29 November, or on noticeboards that are available every Sunday before or after our services. Thereafter, sign up takes place on site at the prayer room.
Can I invite anyone to the prayer room?
We actively encourage people to use the prayer room over this weekend as a place to invite those outside the church community. If you have friends or family who are wary of ‘organised religion’ then this is a great opportunity to introduce them to Christian spirituality and prayer. That being said, we ask that everyone work together to keep the prayer room safe and be aware of other users of the prayer space at all times; see the safeguarding section below.
We have measures in place to keep the event safe for everyone. This includes specific protocol for young people and vulnerable adults, and a 24hr number to call for assistance.
You can sign up using the button at the top of this page at any time until 6pm Thursday 29 November,
or on noticeboards that are available every Sunday before or after our services. Thereafter, sign up takes place on site at the prayer room.
