Tiger@Ten is a lively outreach group of people over 55 years old. We meet each week on a Tuesday morning, at 10 am in the Tiger Building (next to All Saints church on the High Street). With a fantastic team and over 80 regular members, Tiger @ Ten has become a much loved highlight of the week.
We offer a warm welcome, a range of activities and an opportunity to meet new and old friends within a caring Christian environment. We have a short Christian "Thought for the day" and an opportunity for guests to use our prayer box. The homemade refreshments are ever popular! Our regular activities include a book exchange, newspapers and magazine corner, crosswords and Suduko, board games, pool and "Tiger-aerobics". For relaxation, health and wellbeing we offer hand massage and a chance to develop your creative skills. We continue our knitting project for a mission to Sri Lanka.
Our next meeting dates are:
Join us for our Tiger@ Ten Summer Teatime Special at 2.30 pm on Tuesday 23rd July.
If you prefer a more peaceful space to chat with friends old and new then Tiger @Ten Coffee is the place for you! Join us on alternate Tuesdays: same place, same time! The same warm welcome but with quieter activities; a Bible verse and opportunity to pray with someone if you want to. We'd love to see you.
There will be no 'Tiger@Ten Coffee' meetings during August.
Our next meeting dates are:
Thriving and positive living for the over 55's
Our approach is to encourage everyone to get involved because everyone has something to offer. We want to have fun together, support one another, stay active and keep learning. We are planning to have Tiger@Ten as a hub for other activities for and by Seniors at All Saints.
In our wider work we are developing our dementia friendly approach and reviewing our work to support individuals and families through palliative care, and bereavement.
Each stage of life brings with it opportunities and challenges, and changes too. As we grow older our bodies, energies and circumstances may change. We believe God wants us to work together to build each other up, to enable people to feel connected, valued and loved by God. With Gods help we want to reduce frustration and resolve regrets; to reduce experiences of isolation, fearfulness, anxiety and loss.
Ministry in Residential and Nursing Homes
Lindfield has a large number of Residential and Nursing Homes and All Saints has an important ministry to them. At present, we have teams of visitors in five of these Homes. We work with the staff and with members of other churches to provide a ministry which recognises the dignity of those who are at this stage of life. We try to bring spiritual comfort and nourishment to each resident irrespective of religious affiliation or none.
This area of ministry is currently under review. Enquiries to James Clarke.
