Tiger@Ten is a lively event held twice a month for the over-55s.
Launched in Autumn 2013 to provide a place for people to connect with each other, it has proved to be a real success story. There is a happy buzz in the Tiger on Tuesday mornings and our numbers are steadily growing with an average attendance of 55.
We enjoy coffee and cake and a topical Thought for the Day. This is followed by activities including jigsaws, hand massages, chair aerobics, craft and crosswords. Some have been working together to knit toys and blankets for those in need around the world.
Most importantly we engage with each other while sharing these activities - it is a place where friendships are deepened and new friends made.
We encourage you to come and see for yourselves and bring your friends! We meet from 10-11.30am on alternate Tuesdays.
Ministry in Residential and Nursing Homes
Each stage of life brings with it opportunities and challenges, but old age probably has more of the latter than the former. As our bodies grow older, we are able to do less, even though we may not feel any different "on the inside". Old age can be a time of frustration and regret, isolation from families and friends, of fearfulness, anxiety and loss.
Lindfield has a large number of Residential and Nursing Homes and all saints Lindfield has an important ministry to them. At present, we have teams of visitors in five of these Homes. We work with the staff and with members of other churches to provide a ministry which recognises the dignity of those who are at this stage of life. We try to bring spiritual comfort and nourishment to each resident irrespective of religious affiliation or none.
Our aim is to provide:
regular visits from lay visitors
Holy Communion and other services
periodic Senior Alpha courses
spiritual counsel and prayer on a one to one basis
All Saints Lindfield currently work with the following Homes
Arthur Bliss House
Compton House, Little Compton
