Our New Vicar

steve-nicholsWe are delighted to announce that the Rev Dr Stephen Nichols (Steve) has been appointed as our new Vicar from September 2021. Steve is married to Katy and they have four children – John (11), Simeon (9), Charlotte (6) and Toby (6).

Steve is currently one of the Associate Rectors at All Souls, Langham Place in London. He has just overseen the interregnum there (like us through the pandemic) which has obviously involved a wide range of leadership, strategic and pastoral responsibilities.

As the appointment process developed we became increasingly excited to hear of all the work the Lord had done through his varied ministry, and by the end of the selection process we are fully confident that Steve is the servant-hearted Vicar that God has called to join us in Lindfield. He has a deep love of the Lord, a passion for people and a sincere desire to see the Gospel grow in Lindfield and beyond. We are confident that He will look to Jesus as he seeks to honour the past here at All Saints, grow relationships with the staff team and PCC and seek to work out God’s purpose for our church here in the years ahead.

Steve’s licensing service will take place on Thursday 2 September at 7.30pm – further details will follow once we know more on numbers/Covid regulations.

Please do be praying for Steve and Katy in the following ways:

  • For finishing well at All Souls and saying goodbyes
  • For some time for proper rest between jobs
  • For the house move and all the practical arrangements that come with that
  • For the Children and especially the provision of school places
  • That they would be assured of God going ahead and making His plans for them

We do want to thank you all as a church family for your love, support and prayers over the past few months. There are many people to thank – PCC, our wonderful staff team, our Patron and Diocese. As Wardens we want to especially thank Stuart and Hugh for their wisdom, friendship and dedicated service and faithful commitment to upholding all the gospel work that goes on in our church during the most challenging year ever!

With love in Him

Katie and Laurence

Our highest priority is to equip, encourage and build up mature and effective Christians who will be examples of Christ-like living. We therefore place a high emphasis on prayer, worship and Bible teaching.

Who we are

All Saints is an anglican church with a strong evangelical tradition serving the parish of Lindfield in the Diocese of Chichester in West Sussex.

Although we are a local church, we are also committed to supporting God's work further afield - through the Sussex Gospel Partnership and through our many mission partners who are involved in mission work in this country and across the world.

Hugh LeadingOur aim is to be a welcoming Christian community, embodying as well as proclaiming the gospel of God.
Our belief as a church is grounded in the teaching of the Bible, the inspired Word of God. We joyfully acknowledge Jesus as our Saviour and try to follow him day-to-day as our Lord. We are not a perfect church, but we are trying, by God's grace, to grow in faith, hope and love each day. Our aim, therefore, is to be a disciple-making church, building up and growing mature followers of Christ who will be his witnesses in the world.
